On February 26, “Scholarship and Student Grant Award Ceremony for the First Half of 2007” was held on the 12th floor in the WMC building, the Head Office of the Church of God. This ceremony is held twice a year to encourage students to study hard and to have firm faith in God. The ceremony was attended by 104 middle and high school students, who have excellent grades and set good examples for other students, and their parents.
The students in their neat school uniforms seated in the chairs. At 1p.m.
the worship service began, and Mother prayed Father to help them become good examples by following the words of God and shine the glory of God at school. Mother complimented the students of Zion who grew in the words of God and studied hard, calling them “students like the early morning dew,” and told them that they would be blessed when they followed God’s words. She also said to them, “Do not imitate this generation, but be considerate of your friends with love and help the friends in need by following the good will of God, so that you will be the salt and light of the world.” Mother encouraged them to live a faithful life both at school and in Zion. The Chief Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim advised the students not to follow this generation that only pursues materialism, but to learn and want the heavenly things and take the lead in pursuing the spiritual world with great ambition as God’s children. He then emphasized that “studying hard and doing good deeds are the way to receive compliments from God.” He also told them to bear good fruit of the Holy Spirit by studying hard and becoming good examples at home, school and in Zion.
After the worship service, the award cere-mony began. Eight representatives received scholarship and student grant awards from Mother. The students gave thanks to Mother for giving them a lot of blessings so that they could study hard, and the parents gave them a round of applause, hoping they would grow the right way, both spiritually and physically.
Mother said to them, “At your age there are many things you want to have and to do. However, first of all, give thanks to God for giving you the best things of heaven.” She also encouraged them by saying that if they live with confidence all the time, they will have good results.

At the end of the ceremony, the students watched a video about the sacrifice of Father and Mother, and realized once more how important school is. They also learned what kind of life they should live as students. The students gave thanks to God for taking up their infirmities and walking the path of suffering, and they were determined to please God by becoming mature in faith.
After the ceremony they said, “We will be changed into God’s nature by being considerate of our friends and lead them to life by glorifying God at school.” They also made a resolution to study hard and shine God’s glory. Their parents said, “Now, it is getting harder to educate children. But our heavenly Father and Mother are educating the children with love and compliments, and guiding them to the right path so that they will not go astray. We truly give thanks to Father and Mother for Their grace.”
The students, who have just begun a new semester, will make all their efforts to glorify God through their good deeds, being encouraged by Mother’s words of blessing.
